On the Verge presents new work by emerging artists in unusual places and spaces
On the Verge is an exciting and dynamic new festival that will showcase provocative new work by emerging artists in unusual places and spaces. The festival will take over spaces across the city of Liverpool in October 2013, taking the best new work out to audiences.
Alongside the performances, On the Verge will also host a series of workshops led by some of the UK’s leading practitioners as well providing emerging artists with rare opportunities to meet with and quiz these artists to find out how they began their own careers
What is On the Verge about?
This festival is dedicated to supporting the showcasing of new work by emerging artists that is presented in unusual places. We are now eager to hear proposals for pieces that may take place in a phone box, a park, a shop window, a skip, a warehouse - or any other unconventional places or spaces. It is up to the artist to specify the location or type of place where the work would be performed. The On the Verge producers will work with successful applicants to secure the space required.
Anything else?
OTV is being developed by Hope Street Ltd. Hope Street has 25 years of experience of developing emerging artists and OTV represents the continuation and expansion of this commitment. Projects accepted into OTV 2013 will receive bespoke support to help them realise their ambition. This may take the form of creative production support, help with funding, marketing and future planning.
