We are Eventure, a small group of third year Contemporary Theatre and Performance students at UCLan, and for one of our modules, we are creating and hosting a platform event. We have managed to secure our event as part of Korova Arts Cafe's festival week, on 22nd May, and are now looking for contemporary artists to perform as part of this event.
While we are students, we are hosting our event outside of university, and as part of this venue’s festival week, so I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that we are professionals, and that this is a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in becoming part of it and getting their work seen by a wider audience.
We have a maximum of 5 artist spaces available, and your work must fit into one of the following criteria:
- Performance Art
- Live Art
- Video Installation Work
- Media Based Performance
- Contemporary Dance
- Visual Art
You will be expected to create a short (20 min) piece of work to show as part of our evening’s event. This work must be contemporary, and should fit into the theme of addressing identity... so this could range from autobiographical work to a piece that explores relationships, or looks at what makes us artists, etc...
The venue isn't huge, so we are only looking for solo artists to apply. There is basic tech (basic lighting, projection, microphones etc...) available at the venue, so if you require any additional or specialist equipment, you must notify us of these requirements in advance.
Unfortunately because we are self funded, we cannot offer anything more than travel expenses, as well as this great opportunity to show your work as part of this festival week.
The dealine for applicants is Friday 11th April.
If you have any questions, a link to any work you may be thinking of showing, or you require a proposal form, please contact me at laura.eventure@hotmail.com
